What to expect when you book
a lifestyle session with VH Photography
Step 1: You fill out the inquiry form
It starts with a short form on my contact page. I ask about the type of session you're looking for, a date and location if you have one in mind, and a little about what you're hoping to walk away with. No pressure, no commitment at this stage. Just a conversation starter.
Step 2: We connect and lock in the details
Once I receive your inquiry I'll reach out to confirm availability and talk through the details. This is where we figure out location, timing, and any questions you have before booking. I want you to feel completely comfortable before anything is official.
Your session is confirmed once your contract is signed and your retainer is received. That's when your date is locked in and we can start planning for real.
Step 3: You get a wardrobe guide and questionnaire
Before your session I'll send over a wardrobe guide and a short questionnaire. The wardrobe guide takes the guesswork out of what to wear so you're not stressing about it the week of. The questionnaire helps me understand your family, your dynamic, and what matters most to you so I can show up prepared.
This part is important to me. The less you're thinking about logistics on the day of your session, the more present you get to be.
Step 4: The session itself
We meet on location, usually during golden hour for that warm San Diego light that makes everything look and feel the way it should. Sessions are one hour and I keep things relaxed and unhurried from the start.
I don't direct poses the way you might expect. I work with you to draw out a feeling and let the moment follow naturally from there. My goal is for you to forget the camera is there. The best photos happen when you're just focused on each other.
I deliver between 25 and 50 fully edited images per session, all curated by me to give you a gallery that flows and feels consistent from start to finish.
Step 5: Your gallery arrives
Your gallery is delivered within two weeks of your session. From there you can download your images, share them, and order prints directly through the gallery's print shop if you want professional quality products.
That's it. No chasing, no confusion, no waiting around wondering what's next. Just a straightforward experience from start to finish and photos that actually look and feel like you.
